Moving to Mexico

As of August 1, I will leave my job of 23 years with Warwick River Mennonite Church and move with my husband, Bob Bailey to Ajijic Mexico [Lake Chapala area] for a year.

The picture is of our new home in Mexico.

We will travel to Jay, Florida to visit his younger sister, Jeanne Creed and her family for a few days. Then on to Houston to visit my cousin and some good friends of ours.  After a couple of days there we will travel to Laredo, Texas spend the night and cross the border the next morning.  Ajijic is 12 hours from the border.

Our border collie, Flower, will be coming with us.

We will chronicle what it is like to live in Mexico.  Our choice of locations to relocate came about when International Living
magazine reported that National Geographic magazine had rated the area as having the 2nd most desirable climate in the world.  Average year round climate is 76 degrees during the day and in the 60's at night.  The temperatures fluctuate some for the summer and winter seasons. There is a large ex-pat community already established with approx. 23,000 Americans and 8,000 Canadians. Bob's older sister, Pat Hudson and her husband have made Ajijic their home for the last 4 years and we will share the house pictured.  Many people have migrated to the area due to the fact you can live comfortably for $1,500 a month.
