Living in Ajijic, Mexico during the winter months is wonderful. During the night it is about 55 degrees, by 10 a.m. the temperature hits 72 and warms up to about 79 by 1:00 p.m. We have lived here since August and every day except about 3 have been wonderful! Where can you live and say that? National Geographic rated the Lake Chapala area to be the 2nd best place in the world to live for great weather.
We love our daily 3 mile walk by the lake. We often take a break and socialize with friends we have made who are also walking their dogs. We have met people from all over the US and Canada. Everyone we pass on our walk, Americans, Canadians and Mexicans look at you and say "Good Morning".
These tiny ants are busy on the boardwalk and can carry leaves many times their size and can strip a bush in no time. They stripped a grape vine and a lemon tree in our yard.
These riders along the lake had beautiful horses.
Most Americans and Canadians have internet access in their homes, but if you don't or are waiting for it to be installed there are Cyber Shops everywhere. Some sandwich shops have WiFi.
This is a corner pharmacy and they can be found throughout Ajijic and Chapala.
This truck is parked along the main road and sells coffee.
This is the owner and his coffee is freshly ground and great.
Bob bought 1/2 kilo or 1 1/4 pounds for $6.00. He says it is a close second
to Starbucks best bold.
These mountains surround the Lake Chapala area. This view is of the main road that runs from Guadalajara to Jocotopec.
We buy our dog food from the Animal Shelter. These cute statues were inside.
These birds are beautiful. Don't know if they can be adopted or not.
The Shelter has volunteers that sit in the cages with the dogs and cats to love on them. The purple basket was full of about 6 young kittens. They were so adorable it was hard to not take at least one!
