Today was a lazy day.  It rained all last night and the temperature was about 60 degrees. Wonderful sleeping weather. We tried a new church today.  It was not what we are looking for, so we will continue to "church shop". Both of us really dislike shopping for a new church.  I know we will not be able to find a WEC, but hope to find one that will be a good fit.

We often get in the car and ride through neighborhoods looking at the different houses. Seems like quite a few up toward the base of the mountain are for sale.  They are the nicer homes and have a fantastic panorama of the lake and mountains on the other side.  I am totallylove the variety of "doors".  As we drove by the houses close to the mountain, here are some examples.  All of these pictures were taken within a mile of our house. (If you click on the pictures, they should enlarge.)

This door was like old architecture meets new.
These stained glass windows were beautiful and so was the landscaping. I am partial to cactus.

This house was gorgeous and what a view.

As we turned to go down the street you can see how steep it was and on cobble stones.

This wall was tiled and the tiles ran down the entire wall.

This house had beautiful stained glass windows.

Same House

This entrance was so whimsical.

This is pretty amazing.  We have our garbage picked up 6 days a week and there is no charge for the service! The worker stands inside the garbage truck without protective covering and opens the garbage bags and separates the stuff in the garbage truck as seen above.  Incredible.

This too was a beautiful house.

This fish's purpose is to release the water that rains on the roof.  Most houses jus have a round pipe sticking out of the wall. It was on the house above.

Another unique drainage pipe on another building.

Artistic paintings on this house's walls.

I loved the hanging pots and windows on this house.  It looked so neat and clean.

As we were driving at the base of the mountain, we came to what looked like a dead end and then the road took a sharp left turn and what I saw next made me glad we had good breaks! It was like a rocky roller coaster ride downhill.

As we got a little further down the hill, this was the view.  The roads keep going until you reach the lake.

Concrete bench at one of the corners.

I liked this painted design that ran down one of the walls.  One of the boats has his donkey onboard!
