Well today was a get-nothing-done day.  The maid comes every Thursday so we need to be out of our area by 9:15 a.m. as to not be in her way.  Since we had not received any mail from the states that was re-routed from our home address, I needed to call on Sprint, Dominion Va Power and HRSD to find out what the final bill was and pay them. Since our cell was cancelled on Aug. 10 they kept handing me from one person to another to process our final amount.  They took so long the battery died on my phone and nothing else got done! It was a rainy and very cool day,,,kinda like fall.  Good sleeping weather, but the maid was in our rooms cleaning.

We decided to drive around see what was across the highway up the hill on the mountain side. The houses going up the hill to the foot of the mountains behind our house are very nice and the view is fantastic.  They are up much higher than we are. You can see the lake for miles to the right and left.

This 3-D picture was on the wall of one of the houses.

A unique door.

This huge cactus was in front entrance of one of the homes.

One house had this wall beside the entrance.  The door was open and a man, his wife and young son were cleaning the balcony area for the owner who had the place up for rent.  We asked if we could see it and he let us in.  What a beautiful place.  It had a covered balcony with a grill with a wonderful view of the lake. You could see for miles in both directions. The living room, dining room and kitchen was facing the lake with all glass windows across the front area.  It had a Jacuzzi hot tub, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and nice furniture.  We were curious how much it rented for, but he didn't know.

Further up the street was this landscaping.

We returned home after an hour of driving around and checking out the houses.

I never get tired of the beautiful mountains behind our house and the ever changing fog and clouds.

If you wonder what Bob does with his time, after washing the fruit and veggies in
a disinfecting solution, he makes faces

 and animals with it!

Tonight we are having a dinner party with Pat's neighbor across the street, Melanie, and her friend, Bobby, who own the restaurant, Roberto's we have frequented.  Pat did all the cooking as she loves to cook and is a MUCH better cook than me and I did the dishes.

We had appetizers on the balcony. Goats cheese and green olives in a balsamic vinegar marinade, spread on bread and stuffed tomatoes.

For dinner she fixed pork tenderloin, 7 layer salad, beets with walnuts in a sauce, smashed baby potatoes with cheese and cheese cake for dessert.  We all were stuffed.  I am not sure Bob and I can walk enough to lose weight here with his sister's cooking!
